A calmer way to look at
your finances at this stage of life
Hikmah Bayu offers structured, small-group financial education for Malaysians aged 40 and above — covering cash flow, everyday paperwork and considered retirement planning.
Three paths forward, at your own pace
Each programme is designed with a specific stage of the financial review process in mind. There is no pressure to take all three at once.
The Five-Foot-Way: An Orientation
A three-week orientation for those who would like to begin a calm review of their finances at this stage of life. Covers current cash flow, holdings, standing commitments and recurring questions, with a short writing exercise between sessions.
- Small group format with one facilitator
- Weekly written summaries provided
- No prior financial background required
Reading Statements and Documents Plainly
A six-week course on the everyday paperwork of personal finance — bank statements, EPF statements, insurance policy schedules, unit trust statements and tax slips. Each week takes one document type and explains it in plain English.
- Covers six key document types
- Plain English throughout
- Useful for quiet competence with your own paperwork
Considered Pre-Retirement Engagement
A five-month mentor-led programme for those approximately five to ten years from retirement. Covers EPF strategy, supplementary savings, insurance review, healthcare cost provisioning, and the considered sequence of retirement withdrawals over a long horizon.
- Monthly private sessions
- Midway review and written closing summary
- Single-track, unhurried pace
What makes the difference here
These programmes are built around the specific circumstances of people at midlife — not adapted from generic materials.
Designed for your stage
The content accounts for EPF, supplementary savings vehicles, insurance obligations and the particular questions that arise for Malaysians in their 40s, 50s and early 60s.
Small groups, proper attention
Group sizes are kept small so that questions can be answered fully and each participant leaves with a clear understanding of the topic at hand.
Plain language throughout
Financial terms are explained when they appear. Nothing is assumed to be already known. The aim is clarity, not the impression of complexity.
Written summaries provided
After each session, participants receive a written summary of the key points. There is no need to write everything down in the room.
Unhurried pace
Sessions are spaced to allow time for reflection between meetings. The process is deliberate, and there is no pressure to move faster than is comfortable.
